Even though the Los Angeles Rams did not play well in Week 9 against the Tennessee Titans, there is every reason to believe they will be fine the rest of the season.

It was an uncharacteristic night from Matthew Stafford, who threw two brutal interceptions and the Rams offensive line gave up five sacks to a Titans pass rush that generated pressure most of the night. However, the Los Angeles defense received a big boost when Darious Williams made his return to the field after missing three weeks with an ankle injury.

Williams sounded like his ankle held up well in Week 9, via Stu Jackson of TheRams.com:

“I’m getting better daily, every day is just a work in progress,” Williams said during a video conference Wednesday. “Obviously in a game, it felt good to be back out there. And then being on IR, I mean, I think it was good, because obviously, it helped get the ankle right. So everything overall, is feeling great.”

As far as where the team stands, Williams believes the Rams are on track to finish the season strong:

“I think we’re right where we want to be,” Williams said. “We’re still in control of our destiny. Obviously this later half of the season’s all the tougher teams, a lot of good competition, but we’re right where we want to be. We just take every game one week at a time, and defensively, we obviously know we’ve got (Matthew Stafford), we’ve got an offense that’s on fire right now. All we got to do is continue to do our job, get teams off the field, get them the ball back.”

With Williams back and Von Miller waiting in the wings, there is enough reason to be optimistic about L.A.’s outlook down the stretch.

At 7-2, the Rams are still well in the hunt for the best record in the NFL and it will be fun to see them try and bounce back on Monday Night against their division rivals the San Francisco 49ers.
