The Los Angeles Rams announced that SoFi Stadium will host fans at full capacity for the entire 2021 season in alignment with updated guidance for live events and outdoor performances issued by California’s Health and Human Services Secretary Dr. Mark Ghaly
“Stan Kroenke built SoFi Stadium for Rams fans and all of Los Angeles to enjoy. Thanks to LA County Department of Public Health, the heroic work of the medical community and first responders, and everyone doing their part, we are thrilled to announce we will welcome fans to the Rams House this fall at full capacity.”
Starting on June 15, capacity and physical distancing restrictions will be completely lifted in the state of California, paving the way for this announcement.
Under the new guidelines, the state will recommend, but not require, individuals to show proof of vaccination or a negative coronavirus (COVID-19) test. If individuals aren’t vaccinated or display a negative test then they are still allowed in events but are required to wear a mask.
That should be that big of a deal considering all individuals at crowded outdoor events such as SoFi Stadium will be forced to wear masks.
Things can change between now and the Rams’ first game, of course, so the Rams will update their stadium guidelines in accordance with state and local officials.
Even though SoFi Stadium officially opened last season, fans still have yet to see the Rams’ beautiful new home. They have already opened the new team store, and the Rams also announced that they will have an open practice at SoFi Stadium on June 10.
As far as actual games go, the Rams will play two preseason games at SoFi Stadium and then will open up the regular season at home against the Chicago Bears on Sunday Night Football in Week 1.
