Rams Announce Contract Extensions Of Les Snead And Sean McVay Through 2023 Season

The Los Angeles Rams announced that they have signed both general manager Les Snead and head coach Sean McVay to contract extensions that will keep them with the organization through the 2023 season.

Snead has been the Rams general manager since 2012 and is a big reason that they have turned things around since moving to Los Angeles, largely because of the hiring of McVay in 2017.

In his tenure with the team, Snead has drafted stars such as Aaron Donald, Todd Gurley and Jared Goff while also bringing in other solid players like Andrew Whitworth, Aqib Talib, Marcus Peters, Robert Woods and Brandin Cooks to help get the team back in championship contention.

Before the 2017 season, McVay took over a team that was 4-12 the season before with an offense that ranked dead last in scoring.

In McVay’s first season, he led the Rams to their first division championship since 2003. They went from last to first in scoring offense and finished with an 11-5 record before losing to the Atlanta Falcons in the playoffs.

McVay took the Rams to another level in his second season, going 13-3 en route to another division championship. The Rams made the Super Bowl for the first time since 2011, although they lost to the New England Patriots so are still hoping to raise that first Lombardy Trophy since moving back to Los Angeles.

It is no secret that the Rams are on the right track, and in 2019-20 they will once again have Super Bowl aspirations under the leadership of both Snead and McVay.

Now that they are both locked up long-term in addition to both Donald and Gurley signing long-term extensions last year, the focus can now go towards doing the same for Goff, who recently reported to Training Camp without worries that can get done.
