The resiliency of the Los Angeles Rams has been on full display these past two weeks, with the defense anchoring the team to two consecutive victories. During both contests, the defense ended the game on the field during a final drive in order to cap off the victory.
While much has been made of the relocation back to Los Angeles, there is still football to be played. The team has bounced back from their Week 1 meltdown and is currently atop the NFC West.
This Rams team is dependent upon their defense, which is the anchor of the team heading forward. The front seven put together a strong performance during Week 3, even though they were not at full force.
Defensive end William Hayes suffered an ankle injury during the game, resulting in him being taken to the locker room. With the line thin up front, the rest of the team would have to take over and remain composed, avoiding another crucial loss.
However, that unfortunate instance occurred when Eugene Sims was ejected from the game. During an extra point attempt, a scuffle occurred in which Sims retaliated and was ejected.
That marked the second defensive ejection the Rams have suffered three games into the season, which is unheard of. Head coach Jeff Fisher addressed the situation, stating is has to stop.
However, while Sims was sent to the locker room, Hayes took one for the team, via Dani Klupenger of CBS Sports:

Hayes, a nine-year veteran, demonstrated a team-first mentality in coming back into the game. During the team press conferences, Fisher stated that although he didn’t approve of the decision, he commended Hayes for coming back in.
In three games this season, Hayes has recorded one sack on six tackles, with five assists as well.
