The Los Angeles Rams have one of the best defensive players in all of football in defensive tackle Aaron Donald, and he is being recognized for just that.
NFL players recently voted on their top 100 players for NFL Network’s yearly special, and even though he has only been in the league for two season Donald came in at No. 14. He joins teammate Todd Gurley, who is No. 22, as the only Rams players to crack the top 100.
The Rams selected Donald in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft out of Pittsburgh. He was named the 2014 Defensive Rookie of the Year after having 37 tackles and nine sacks in the 2014 season. He followed that up in 2015 with 43 tackles and 11 sacks, being named to the All-Pro team for the first time. Donald was selected to represent the Rams in the Pro Bowl in both 2014 and 2015.
The past offseason the Rams decided to two veteran defensive players in defensive end Chris Long, who signed with the New England Patriots and middle linebacker James Laurinaitis, who is now with the New Orleans Saints, leaving Donald the unquestioned leader of the Rams defense as they head west to Los Angeles.
