With just over a month remained before the beginning of training camp, the Los Angeles Rams have announced that they signed all six of their draft picks: No. 1 overall pick Jared Goff, fourth rounders Tyler Higbee and Pharoh Cooper, and sixth rounders Temarrick Hemingway, Josh Forrest and Mike Thomas.
Goff received a four-year, $27.9 million contract with $18.6 million coming in signing bonuses. The former Cal quarterback figures to battle with Nick Foles and Case Keenum for the starting job this camp.
He played three years at Cal and started every game while he was there. In 2015 he threw for a career-high 4,714 yards, completing 64.5 percent of his passes, while throwing 43 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.
Los Angeles selected Higbee, a tight end out of Western Kentucky, in the fourth round. Higbee’s contract is four years and worth just under $3 million. That contract is a little more than the contract Cooper, a wide receiver out of South Carolina signed. Cooper will make around $720,000 per year for four years.
In 31 games at Western Kentucky Higbee caught 68 passes for 1,054 yards and 14 touchdowns. In his senior season the 6 foot 6 inch tight end caught a career-high 38 passes for 563 yards and eight touchdowns. Cooper played three season at South Carolis, catching 138 passes for 2,163 yards and 18 touchdowns, as well as rushing for 513 yards and four touchdowns in 34 career games. His sophomore season was his best as he had 1,336 scrimmage yards and 11 total touchdowns in 13 games.
The three sixth round picks will all make around $2.5 million throughout the course of their four-year deals. Hemingway, another tight end, caught 93 passes for 1,056 yards and seven touchdowns in 45 career games at South Carolina State. In his senior season he caught 38 passes for 418 yards and one touchdown.
Forrest had 232 total tackles as a linebacker at Kentucky, with his career-high coming his junior season in 2014 when he had 110 total tackles.
Thomas played two season as a wide receiver at Southern Mississippi after transferring from a junior college. In 25 games he caught 112 passes for 1,983 yards and 19 touchdowns. He had a standout senior season as he caught 71 passes for 1,391 yards and 14 touchdowns in 13 games.
