The Los Angeles Rams have spent the first couple of months adding pieces to the puzzle on the defensive side of the ball. This has left a few of the players from last year’s roster free to look elsewhere in free agency.
Such is the case for veteran defensive tackle Tyrann Walker, who is still on the open market at this point in the offseason. According to Ian Rapoport of The NFL Network, Walker has reportedly lined up a workout with the New York Jets:

The 28-year-old had latched onto the Rams last summer where he played in all 16 games in the 2017 season recording 22 total tackles with a sack, a forced fumble and fumble recovery, and a career-high four pass deflections. Walker proved to be a valued part of the defensive line rotation helping fill the void at the spot left by Dominique Easley being out for the year due to an ACL tear that he suffered last August.
He has plenty to offer as a role player in the rotation along the defensive front showing the ability to be an effective option against the run. He has also displayed plenty of durability over the last two seasons playing in all but one game over that span. Walker could quickly latch onto the Jets, who are in need of providing more stability to their defensive line this offseason after the changes that the team has undergone over the last few months.
The Rams no longer have a need to keep him aboard with the addition of star defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh to a one-year, $14 million. Meanwhile, the team has decided to retain Easley despite missing all of last season to utilize along with reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald, second-year defensive tackles Tanzel Smart and Omarius Bryant.
