Another day, another big move by the Los Angeles Rams. This time, they have sent yet another shockwave throughout the league.
The Rams made headlines after their blockbuster deal for Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters. Now they have added his opposite starter with Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib in exchange for a fifth-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter:

The Rams entered the offseason with lingering questions in the secondary. Needless to say, they have now fortified that unit for the 2018 NFL season with Peters, Talib, and safety Lamarcus Joyner playing under the franchise tag.
The 2017 campaign also spelled the end of Talib’s stellar tenure in Denver. Despite coming off his fifth-straight Pro Bowl selection, it was clear that he and the Broncos were ready to part ways. However, when rumors arose about a potential trade, he was adamant about wanting to go to a contender. As a result, the New England Patriots had emerged as the immediate frontrunners for his services.
Fortunately, Talib’s familiarity with defensive coordinator Wade Phillips has undoubtedly played a role in the move. Although the veteran is known for his boisterous personality on the field, there is no doubt he is still one of the best in the NFL at his position.
The trade undoubtedly marks the end of cornerback Trumaine Johnson’s tenure with the Rams. It also raises questions as to how cornerback Kayvon Webster will be utilized for next season after coming off of injury.
