The Los Angeles Rams came up short in their marquee matchup versus the Philadelphia Eagles. The game certainly followed through on the buzz, however, it ultimately cost both teams heavily.
Los Angeles announced that cornerback Kayvon Webster has been placed on the injured reserve and will be out for the rest of the year after rupturing his Achilles on Sunday. Webster has since revealed on Instagram that he actually played the entire 2017 NFL season with a torn labrum and a rotator cuff:

Not only does the news alone reveal how tough Webster truly is, but it also shows the dedication he had to getting his Rams debut off to a solid start after coming over from the Denver Broncos during the offseason. The fifth-year man out of South Florida registered 38 tackles, seven pass deflections, and an interception — which happened to come during the first quarter against the Eagles.
Unfortunately, the season-ending designation was just the cherry on top of an injury-plagued year for Webster. That said, he has shown plenty of promise in his first year as a bonafide starter for next year’s campaign, especially with the uncertain future regarding No. 1 cornerback Trumaine Johnson. Stepping up in Webster’s place will likely be a combination of cornerbacks Troy Hill and Kevin Peterson, who both recorded season-high snaps against Philadelphia.
