Players often welcome the bye week with open arms, especially during the middle of the season after some wear and tear. However, Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley is part of the few who were hesitant to embrace the week off.
Los Angeles has become one of the league’s most prolific offenses, with Gurley serving as its bell-cow back. According to Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times, the Rams stud says the extra rest days affected his weekly regimen:
“That messed me up for sure,” he said. “Just being lazy. Four to five days can make a difference. “Didn’t know it could make such a difference, but it definitely makes a difference.”
It is strange to hear Gurley take issue with days off considering he has shouldered a heavy workload for Los Angeles. However, the third-year star has shown to be very meticulous about his routine leading into games.
He was blunt about his displeasure with having to travel to London to play a divisional home game against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 7. Now that the Rams have officially moved back to their regular practice schedule, it is safe to say he has managed to get through his roughest stretch of the year.
