Several players on the Los Angeles Rams recently took to social media to help raise money for those affected by Hurricane Harvey. Nose tackle Michael Brockers and running back Malcolm Brown have been at the forefront of the efforts that have already raised thousands of dollars.
Now the Rams organization has announced they will be joining their players’ endeavor to provide support for the city of Houston, according to Vice President of Community Affairs and Engagement Molly Higgins:
“Given some of our players, coaches and fans have personal connections to the Houston-region devastated by Hurricane Harvey, it is important for us to support organizations and efforts bringing relief to the area,” Higgins said. “We are inspired by the work of Michael Brockers and Malcolm Brown and many others, and we wanted to use this platform we have to help those communities who are currently in distress.”
In addition to their efforts, the Rams will be auctioning off ticket packages to their 2017 NFL season opener versus the Indianapolis Colts. They will also donate a portion of the ticket proceeds from that game to organizations directly supporting those affected by Hurricane Harvey.
