The Los Angeles Rams have been in desperate need of a consistent offensive playmaker for some time now. Although many thought Todd Gurley would be the saving grace after his tremendous rookie year, the 2016 NFL season quickly showed even he is not immune to struggling behind a rookie quarterback, lackluster offensive line, and mediocre receiving corps.
While there have been a number of bonafide offensive stars the team has passed up on in recent NFL Drafts, one current player is glad the Rams skipped on him. Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce recently joined The Herd with Colin Cowherd to share his thought process during the 2013 NFL Draft:

Some of the notable picks in the draft for Los Angeles include Tavon Austin, Alec Ogletree, and TJ McDonald. Despite the lucrative contract extension he signed last offseason, Austin has struggled to establish himself as a premier receiver since entering the league. Although it would have been nice to have landed a legitimate tight end like Kelce, missed draft picks are often the name of the game.
Unfortunately, those missed picks are starting to add up and the result is a horrendous offense that is historically incapable of scoring. However, with new head coach Sean McVay in town to rebrand this offense, it could be a matter of time before Kelce is forced to eat his words.
