After an offseason of interviewing potential candidates for their head coaching vacancy, the Los Angeles Rams found their man in former Washington Redskins offensive coordinator, Sean McVay. McVay’s combination of youth and experience developing quarterbacks was enough for the Rams and he will now be responsible for improving upon last year’s disappointing season.
Before he was hired, McVay pegged former Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Wade Phillips as the person he would like to bring with him and according to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Phillips seems bound for Los Angeles:

McVay is only 30 years old and will need a staff with experience, something Phillips has an abundance of. The veteran coach has been in the league for over 40 years and brings with him plenty of knowledge and expertise when it comes to the defensive end of the field. During the 2015 NFL season, Phillips coordinated a Broncos defense that ranked first in several defensive categories. Their defense propelled them to Super Bowl 50 where they defeated the Carolina Panthers 24-10 and cemented their status as arguably the greatest defensive team of all time.
After former head coach Gary Kubiak retired, the Broncos hired Vance Joseph who said he intends to talk to the defensive coordinator about a possible return to Denver. However, with his contract up and openings available, Phillips will be sure to weigh his options. If he does decide to take McVay up on his offer, the Rams should see a drastic improvement on both sides of the field, something the team desperately needs.
