The Los Angeles Rams overcame a roster overhaul last summer and surprised the rest of the NFL after they qualified for the 2024 NFL Playoffs.

Despite parting ways with several of their key veteran stars and elevating rookies and second-year players to starting roles, the Rams went 10-7 during the 2023 season and look poised to build on that momentum heading into 2024. Head coach Sean McVay proved he could adapt his offense by switching to a more physical, run-first scheme versus the play-action and dropback style he became known for.

During the offseason, Los Angeles doubled down on its newfound identity by re-investing in their offensive line via free agency and the draft. Defensively, the Rams lost Aaron Donald who was the pillar of the unit but will look to replace his production with a committee of young players headlined by Jared Verse and Braden Fiske.

It’s hard to predict how much success the Rams will have now that the league won’t be caught off guard, but the team has shown they can be competitive weekly as long as their stars are healthy. Matthew Stafford was able to stay upright for most of the year last season and coupled with a healthier Cooper Kupp the offense should return to form. There’s also the ascension of players like Kyren Williams and Puka Nacua, who looked like stars for the Rams last year.

While training camp remains a couple of months away, excitement is still palpable for the new season after the NFL released the official schedules for the 2024 season. The Rams narrowly lost to the Detroit Lions in the Wild Card round, and will have a chance to exact their revenge in Week 1 when they visit them on the road for Sunday Night Football.

Los Angeles’ home opener will take place in Week 3 against their bitter NFC Rivals the San Francisco 49ers. They’ll have an early bye week in Week 6 before they’re back in action for Week 7 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Rams will be featured four additional times in primetime, with two Thursday Night Football games, one Sunday Night Football game and one Monday Night Football game. Their regular season finale will be at home versus another NFC rival the Seattle Seahawks, which could have some major playoff implications.

Overall, the Rams have the 12th-toughest strength of schedule (.505) of any team this year, according to NFL Research. And after facing four teams coming off byes last season, they will only face one this year – the New Orleans Saints in Week 13.
